Bio: Touchstone athlete, L. Renee Blount (she/her), is a professional adventure photographer and climber based in Oakland. Her work has been featured in major campaigns with The North Face, Arc'teryx, Outside Magazine, and beyond. Her love for climbing spans decades and is rooted in the joy she finds on ropes.

Clinic Description: Ready to move beyond top-rope climbing? This clinic is designed to help you transition into lead climbing with confidence.

You’ll learn essential skills like proper clipping techniques, lead belaying, and how to fall and catch falls effectively. The clinic covers key fundamentals, including identifying risky foot placements, rope management, mock leading and belaying, and progressing into real lead climbing and belaying.

With a strong emphasis on fall practice and safety, this clinic is ideal for anyone ready to take the next step and become a lead climber.

Includes: 1 session, 3 hours of instruction

Prerequisites:

• Touchstone Top Rope Belay Card
• Climbers with over a year of climbing experience
• Climbers who can climb 5.11 comfortably
• Must be 18 years or older

When/Where: 1:00pm - 4:00pm on July 26th at Pacific Pipe in West Oakland

Participants: 3 Minimum - 6 Maximum
