Learn the basic skills you need to get climbing in 1 hour—how to secure your harness, tie a figure-8 knot, complete safety checks, belay using an ATC belay device, catch a fall, and lower a climber back to the ground. Must be 13 or older.

Let us take you under our wing and introduce you to the amazing world of bouldering. In this small group setting, we will cover how bouldering works, falling safety, on- and off-the-wall etiquette, and everything you'll need to help orient you to the bouldering world.

Touchstone now offers a FREE weekly Beginner Technique Series for members — designed to help you build confidence, understand movement, and get more fun out of every session.

Each week of the month spotlights a different fundamental skill:

  • Week 1: Footwork Foundations - Learn how to use your feet with precision, trust small holds, and move with control.
  • Week 2: Body Position & Movement - Discover how to twist, flag, drop-knee, and use your hips to stay balanced and climb more efficiently.
  • Week 3: Straight-Arm Efficiency - Stop burning out your arms. Learn to relax your grip, climb on straight arms, and conserve energy.
  • Week 4: Project Tactics - Break down climbs, spot the crux, visualize sequences, and make smarter attempts on your projects.

Whether it’s your first time on the wall or you’re ready to push past V1/V2, these sessions give you the tools to climb with confidence. All classes are beginner-friendly, hands-on, and taught by our experienced Touchstone staff.
